Alec Stewart is England’s most test capped cricketer of all time!

He took over the England captaincy in 1998 and quickly led the side to a win against South Africa, the first major series win in 12 years. But Stewart’s leadership was based on pride and passion, and when England lost another Ashes series and flopped in the 1999 World Cup, he was harshly axed.

In 2000 he picked his wicket back up again and came back fighting in his 100th test match. He also crowned his achievements by becoming England’s most-capped Test cricketer, in the 2002 match against India at Lord’s. The standing ovation he received says it all…
